Recent weeks and months have seen a particularly challenging and unprecedented time in our history. Throughout this period, we have continued trading and supporting the vital, street lighting and highways traffic industries whilst following Government guidelines and considering the welfare of our staff.
The street lighting and highways industries are crucial to supporting and maintaining road and pedestrian safety and critical infrastructure, ensuring the necessary logistics to carry on supplying food and equipment needed by all of us, including front line workers, food producers and providers of postal and waste collection services.
A statement issued by the Transport Minister, Baroness Vere of Norbiton, said
“I would like to thank you again for your work during this difficult period. There are still many difficult weeks and months ahead. But the whole country owes a debt of gratitude to employees across our highways maintenance, construction and street-works industry who have worked tirelessly to keep Britain on the move”.
