CELsafe has been used across the UK for some years and in demonstrations at the National Passive Safety Crash Demonstration Day. It successfully showed compliance to BS EN 12767:2019.
Passive safety systems, work differently to streetlight or lamppost cut outs which are triggered by a surge of electricity. Instead, they disconnect the electrical supply to the lighting column itself in the event of an impact.
Our CELsafe systems are designed for installation into all forms of street lighting equipment and include a quick-disconnection unit for lighting columns and signposts.
The range offers four configurations including Disruption Pillars and Standard Passive connection at the Lighting Column. Each option has several components that can be used to achieve the best solution. Drawings and schematics are available to help you select the correct product for your requirements.

- Configuration 1: Pillar based disconnection with ground chamber snatch plug and column impact sensor.
- Configuration 2: Pillar based disconnection with column mounted impact sensor.
- Configuration 3: Ground chamber-based disconnection with impact sensor and snatch plug.
- Configuration 4: Ground chamber-based disconnection with snatch plug.
